I’ll probably find myself in Dutch archives in the coming months. During my last visit before the holidays, the people of the Amsterdam City Archives showed us how to find specific personal details – for example, notes that show that someone joined the SS. However, we need to find information on specific individuals, which means our researchers need to check the records name by name.  If they find any person of interest,  we must ask the researchers of City Archives to look into them. One by one… It takes a lot of time to add this sensitive – but crucial – information to our data set.

I think I’ll browse the web later today for some Amsterdam housing possibilities.
